Misheard Song Lyrics -> Stories -> Free

Misheard lyrics (also called mondegreens) occur when people misunderstand the lyrics in a song. These are NOT intentional rephrasing of lyrics, which is called parody. For more information about the misheard lyrics available on this site, please read our FAQ.

This page contains a list of the songs that have stories about their misheard lyrics submitted.

Song names are sorted by first letter, excluding A and The. This is sorted by song title only, not by song title and performer. So if two different performers preformed the same song, you'll see misheard lyrics for both on the same page (provided the song title was spelt the same both times, and misheard lyrics have been submitted for both!).

Free's, "All Right Now"
The Misheard Lyrics:
All night long.
The Real Lyrics:
All right now.
The Story: I have similar story about the song's title. According to me, "All Right Now" was misheard as "All Night Long" that mention in songs by Demi Lovato, Aretha Franklin (best known for her song, "Respect"), Brownsville Station (best known for "Smokin' in the Boys Room" in which was covered by Mötley Crüe), Buckcherry (with "Sorry"), Little Richard (with "Tutti Frutti"), Paul Revere & The Raiders (with "Kicks"), Rainbow (with "Rainbow Eyes"), Scorpions (with "Always Somewhere"), and The Verve (with "Bitter Sweet Symphony") among others (not Lionel Richie and if Lionel Richie it would be "All Night Long (All Night)" or "All Nightmare Long" by Metallica). Originally, I posting "Goodbye to You" by Michelle Branch (not "It's Alright, It's OK" by Ashley Tisdale because this time Ashley is not to come at a day) and I try to searching another song for posting here. But, because "All Right Now" was previously posting here but with similar suggestion, I posting it that I misunderstand it as "All Night Long". About this song: "All Right Now" was sung by Paul Rodgers who previously sung in Bad Company's "Feel Like Makin' Love". "All Right Now" is track #7 on their third studio album, "Fire and Water", released on 26 June 1970. It was written by Andy Fraser and Paul Rodgers. The song, released as a single in 1970, hit #4 on Billboard's Pop Chart and #2 on the UK Singles Chart. Making them their major hit to date. - Submitted by: Wisnu Aji
Free's, "All Right Now"
The Misheard Lyrics:
Let's move before they raid the park and ride
The Real Lyrics:
Let's move before they raise the parking rate.
The Story: Park and ride is funny because typically people are always getting "raided" for "activity" in those lots - Submitted by: DLI
Free's, "All Right Now"
The Misheard Lyrics:
Let's move before they raise the f***ing rent.
The Real Lyrics:
Let's move before they raise the parking rate.
The Story: For 30 years, I have thought that this song had an obscenity in it. I even used to turn down the radio when this song played. It wasn't until I heard it being used on a commercial recently that I considered that it may have other lyrics. - Submitted by: Rae
