Misheard Song Lyrics -> Stories -> Blaque

Misheard lyrics (also called mondegreens) occur when people misunderstand the lyrics in a song. These are NOT intentional rephrasing of lyrics, which is called parody. For more information about the misheard lyrics available on this site, please read our FAQ.

This page contains a list of the songs that have stories about their misheard lyrics submitted.

Song names are sorted by first letter, excluding A and The. This is sorted by song title only, not by song title and performer. So if two different performers preformed the same song, you'll see misheard lyrics for both on the same page (provided the song title was spelt the same both times, and misheard lyrics have been submitted for both!).

Blaque's, "808"
The Misheard Lyrics:
I hear she's got to light a fire
But come on in after twenlve.
The Real Lyrics:
I hear she's got a nine-to-five
But coming in after twelve.
The Story: The video to this appeared on an 'urban music' programme named 'Flava' a while back. The sound quality was slightly poor, so I couldn't really hear what the girls were singing about. As for 'twenlve', I just assumed Shamari was trying to merge 'ten' and 'twelve'. That would teach me next time to bother increasing the volume on the TV. - Submitted by: Loveless
Blaque's, "Bring It All To Me"
The Misheard Lyrics:
Are ya feelin' my temp,
my package, and my f**k appeal
The Real Lyrics:
Are you feelin' my Tim's,
my baggie jeans, my thug appeal
The Story: My friend, her sister, and I used to listen to this song all the time when we went to the mall or tanning or just around town. We were in shock that jc from N*sync would curse like that on Blaque's cd. Then we couldn't figure out why jc would want someone to feel his temperature, touch his package, and say the word F**K. The curse wasn't even bleeped out on the radio! Finally, I was at another friend's house when the video came on and I told my boyfriend to listen because they curse and I couldn't believe they did it on mtv also! Then my bf finally informed me that the correct words were Tim's (whatever that is), baggie jeans, and thug appeal! I didn't believe him and sure enough- those exact words were on Blaque's site under lyrics! I was embarassed!!! - Submitted by: Sara D.
