Misheard Song Lyrics -> Stories -> Baha Men

Misheard lyrics (also called mondegreens) occur when people misunderstand the lyrics in a song. These are NOT intentional rephrasing of lyrics, which is called parody. For more information about the misheard lyrics available on this site, please read our FAQ.

This page contains a list of the songs that have stories about their misheard lyrics submitted.

Song names are sorted by first letter, excluding A and The. This is sorted by song title only, not by song title and performer. So if two different performers preformed the same song, you'll see misheard lyrics for both on the same page (provided the song title was spelt the same both times, and misheard lyrics have been submitted for both!).

It's a new romance.

While the other kids were playing on the top

While the other kids were playing on the dock

Baha Men's, "Who Let The Dogs Out?"
The Misheard Lyrics:
( who who who who )

Baha Men's, "Who Let the Dogs Out?"
The Misheard Lyrics:
But they tell me, "Hey man, who f***ed up the party?"
The Real Lyrics:
But they tell me, "Hey man, it's part of the party?"
The Story: In Australia, the music video was re-edited to use the "barking mad" dance remix whenever it was played on TV. Whoever edited it must've thought that the song had an F-bomb and crudely replaced (what is actually) "it's part of" with a "who?" from the chorus. - Submitted by: Aaron
Baha Men's, "Who Let the Dogs Out?"

FBI oh

Yippie ai yo
The Story: Today I listened to who let the dogs out and I heard FBI Open up not complete and I finished the line by saying pen up. FBI OPEN UP. - Submitted by: Caranime
Baha Men's, "Who Let the Dogs Out?"
The Misheard Lyrics:
The party of puppies
The Real Lyrics:
The party was pumpin'
The Story: The misheard lyrics make sense since it's about dogs. - Submitted by: Cody Finke
