Misheard lyrics (also called mondegreens) occur when people misunderstand the lyrics in a song. These are NOT intentional rephrasing of lyrics, which is called parody. This page contains all the misheard lyrics for Long Train Runnin' (Without Love) that have been submitted to this site and the old collection from inthe80s started in 1996. For more information about the misheard lyrics available on this site, please read our FAQ.

The Doobie Brothers', "Long Train Runnin' (Without Love)"
Misheard Lyrics:
And the steel wheels like cool and hot
And the mountains ain't "no duh"
Original Lyrics:
And the steel rails lie cold and hard [are cold and hard?]
On the mountains they go down [For the miles that they go down?]
The Doobie Brothers', "Long Train Runnin' (Without Love)"
Misheard Lyrics:
I got love
You're s'posed to be right now
Original Lyrics:
Without love, where would you be right now?
I inserted the subtitle "Without Love" because they say those words twice in each chorus, but they never say "Long train runnin'" once in the song.
