According to an old discussion group on the Boston web site, that was brought up. Tom Scholz, the founder and lead guitarist of Boston, was supposedly writing about his job as a senior product design engineer at Polaroid Co. in Boston. This was of course before his self-titled debut album in 1976 produced the hit 'More Than a Feeling' and became one of the best-selling debut albums of all time.
