Notable Acting Credits | Comments & Submitter Name |
| "Oklahoma! Carousel The Music Man" | Despite her many acting credits, Jones is probably best remember as the mother of The Partridge Family on television. She's also the only one of the "Partridges" that actually sang on the records such as the #1 "I Think I Love You" except for her step son, David Cassidy (the lead singer). She had a really great voice and was wonderful character actress. - George Straitjacket |

Comments: The rest of the lyrics: "... love, for goodnight." "Goodnight My Someone" is a song from Meredith Wilson (both music and lyrics)'s 1957 Broadway musical, "The Music Man". "The Music Man" was set in River City, Iowa in 1912. Originally sung by Barbara Cook playing Marian "The Librarian" Paroo before she meets Professor Harold Hill, Shirley Jones would sing the song and play Marian in the 1962 motion picture and Jones is probably better known for the role and the song.
