Band Name Origins:
- They were all from my city, New York City, and thourght that the name NYC sounded cool. Only it was origionaly N.Y.C. Even if you look on their first album, Resorection Blvd., you see that it says N.Y.C. However, when their first rythem guitarist, Tommy Johnson, died after Resorection Blvd., they changed it to NYC because a part of the band was gone. Submitted by: Tony Conderno

Story about this misheard lyric by: Dan Fongleberg When I first heard this song on the radio, those were the lyrics I thourght they said. And then the radio announcer said, 'That this song was from 1988', and I knew that 'The X-Files' didn't start until 1993. So I knew that this was impossible. I looked up the real lyrics. |
Song Parody Fragments:
"So In Love"
Better Lyrics:
The floor inside the church begins to crumble,
but love can never die, because we'd die in the lords hands,
before we say goodbye,
this is where we would be praying for eturnity,
that's the way, God intended it to be
but love can never die, because we'd die in the lords hands,
before we say goodbye,
this is where we would be praying for eturnity,
that's the way, God intended it to be
Original Lyrics:
The ground beneth my feet begins to crumble
but love will never die,
because we'd see the mountins crumble before we say goodbye,
my love and I will be in love internaly,
thats the way, thats the way its meant to be,
but love will never die,
because we'd see the mountins crumble before we say goodbye,
my love and I will be in love internaly,
thats the way, thats the way its meant to be,

"Trapped In The Elevator"
The Funny Lyrics: And the happy scalple said that everything will be alright
I looked down and up and it was night, but then I laughed out of spite Why They're Funny: Do I even need to explain why these lyrics are stupid? I mean come on, the song is about a man who is on drugs anyway!

Repetitive Lyrics:
"The Yeah Song"
The Repetitive Lyrics: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah(500x)
na, na, na, na, na, na(500x) Why They're Repetitive: I mean I know that they were all drunk when the came up with this song, and that it was add-lipped at a concert, but I mean the only other lyrics to the song are 'If you dont eat the meat you wont stop the slaughter' which has nothing to do with the song any way. It just made no sence, but its pretty good tune for drunk people to have come up with
