Band Name Origins:
- The band knew a Spanish guy who had the name Jesus (Pronounced Heyzoos) Lizardos. They asked him if they could use his name. He said yes. Heard it in an interview with the band on the radio when they came to NZ. Submitted by: Krytic
- In an interview, David You said the band named themselves after a lizard that can run across water very fast without sinking, aka, the Jesus lizard. IIRC, he said Touch & Go Records founder Corey Rusk had one, which inspired them to take the name. Submitted by: kurt
