If you know she's just a female friend of your boyfriend then there's no need to get jealous in the first place. Therefore this chorus just negates everything else that's in the song. As for Jermaine's part, Alicia just told you in the verses why she's jealous!

It's stupid. If she wants to talk to the guy so badly, wouldn't it make more sense for her to just call the man herself instead of waiting for him to call? It was Prince who wrote and originaly sang that damn song in the first place, so maybe someone should just slap him for not using his common sense and writing such a stupid song.
