Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha. . .just as I was saying you've disappeared from the recording arena, you come back with your best recording to date. . .I hope you are on the radio again soon. . .Fantastic job on an overplayed OS.
Thanks Dave! You inspired me (or supplied a needed kick in the...). I went the midi route on this one (and the drunk Grover voice)
Idea: 9 - Great title sub, who hasn't played Whack-a-Mole?
Lyrics/humor: 8 - Well written, funny.
Singing: 7 - Not Billy Joel, thankfully. =)
Backing track: 2 - The MIDI is not particularly close in its notation to TOS, and the instruments are way off. Piano and organ should be bass and drums. Very thin.
Production/mixing: 5 - Voice goes out of the mic's range in spots, and in the intro I can hear... kids? Also, the last half second of the song I hear the same. Guess they make it hard to get a perfectly quiet recording environment... editing them out or using them more as sound effects would have worked though.
Sound effects/bites: n/a
Video: n/a
Overall: 6 - With a real backing track and a better recording environment this would be at least a 7.5. Good stuff though.

(POTM) I thought you let lose a bit on this one, which I like, you don't sound so constrained. Jack has a point on the midi, Anvil Studio would help there, if you ever want me to spice up a midi, let me know--despite my recent episodes of professional tracks--I still keep my software on hand, which is what made the first 40 Below Average Dave productions still sound decent. I think, of your recorded parodies, this one is the funniest even if it's not your best quality to date. PS---Where is the October 13th Automatic Transmission? I want to hear it--you always forget about us ugly ducklins over here on AmIRight when it comes to that. . .I love your broadcasts--it's fun to hear the conversation about everyone's work.
Funniest so far - lyrically excellent: the way the words pace is super. What must that have done to your vocal chords, though: I got a sore throat just listening to it ;-)
POTM- Very funny and well done, Jeff. I have to agree that the sound was a little off, but you sang it very well and I had a good laugh at this one.
I agree with Phil on this round. It's a great song, freaking hilarious lyrically but your voice... Why did you do that to your voice?!
