WTF Jakers!? I have always admired your work, but you are crossing a really dark line here, even in the name of satire. I felt sickened by this. Anyone who thinks this is funny needs a castration, pronto. Lord help us....and you.
*places rubber band around testes, grabs a knife and a shot of whisky* Aggy, while topics like these are touchy, I thought Luke did a hell of a job on this piece. Reread your comment on "Pedophilia!" sometime. Quote from DF: "It’s not really happening. It’s a movie, and it’s called acting. I’m not going through anything..." Had the media not made such a bfd about her rape scene, with grossly inaccurate information to its extreme nature, this song probably wouldn't exist.
Now I know Jake is meaning this all in the name of satire but compare the POV of both parodies...Any intelligent wit could see that Spaff's "Pedophilia" is a knock against Mr. Michael Jackson, especially when the song shifts the narrative from outside of the inner thoughts of the singer (during the Vincent Price "rap" part). But here in Jake's tune, I can't see the humor...there's no context to the Hounddog movie situation, the singer simply lists DF's past accomplishments and what the narrator would like to do to her. That DIRECT line of attack against DF (especially the chorus and title "Rape Rape Dakota") is what I find disturbing. Think on it...if you were Dakota and you somehow googled this tune, wouldn't you be at least a bit scared for your safety? Thanks.
I understood the POV on Spaff's parody, a parody up until very recently was not one I liked. This work walks on razor blades, but I think it's a brilliant piece of satire lampooning the media hype over a relatively tame movie scene (rather than any real threat or perverted attraction to DF), full of over the top lines (and choruses), sprinkled with clever uses of her past works and some trademark Brattoni rhyming.
"I can't see the humor...there's no context to the Hounddog movie situation...": did you read the lyrics or play the song? There's about 30 seconds of media sound bites that give the context. Also, the line 'with defiance' is taken from the script of Hounddog - some other references to the movie are probably there, but not having seen it I can't say for sure. Not that I want to see it - it sounds like an awful movie even excluding the rape scene. Yes, the parody is disturbing. To answer your question, I think that if Dakota Fanning can handle what she has so far with being a mega Hollywood star and had no problems being filmed in a simulated sex act, then she could probably handle a rap song done about her by a guy who lives 10,000 miles away. Peace out.
Luke, I think you pulled a miracle on this one: I wouldn't try doing a similar theme in the future unless you can RUN across razor blades.

I couldn't find any context to Hounddog in the lyrics, but I did hear the song with the sound bites. We'll agree to disagree. :)
Wow... I have to agree with Agrimorfee on this one. And I typed up an explanation as to why, but decided not to post it because there's no point in getting into a debate. As Ag said, we'll just have to agree to disagree. Still, I sincerely hope that if anyone uses a similar theme in the future, it's directed toward a fictional character rather than an actress, particularly a very underaged one.
