Morticians Lullaby
Once not so long ago he was rancid with mold
And fit to be hauled to the morgue
We left him stinky, rancid, and all
Never to breathe any more
Now he takes his leave, liquid and brown
And dribbles his way through the grate
Where dead, young and old, from all over the town
Gather in search of a way.
Chorus:
Husband drip, drop your head off and dream
Slow-moving ooze borne down to a stream
And carried away on mortician green
Onward far into a sea
My husband now is soaking in dirt
And has no more secrets to keep
Now that his life has been taken away
So oozey and long will he drip
Now, some men pass with morticians around
With linens and blankets so clean
But seldom a cadaver goes underground
Without his slight tinge of green
Then there is a smell, an expulsion is heard
Our lunches are lost to the meadow
Will it mix with our loved one down there below?
I'm certain we never will know
Although our families have violently expelled
No clean up attempts can be seen
Our hopes for our loved ones in the dark Earth sealed
Now lie in a slight tinge of green
Once not so long ago he was rancid with mold
And fit to be hauled to the morgue
We left him stinky, rancid, and all
Never to breathe any more
Now he takes his leave, liquid and brown
And dribbles his way through the grate
Where dead, young and old, from all over the town
Gather in search of a way.
Chorus:
Husband drip, drop your head off and dream
Slow-moving ooze borne down to a stream
And carried away on mortician green
Onward far into a sea
My husband now is soaking in dirt
And has no more secrets to keep
Now that his life has been taken away
So oozey and long will he drip
Now, some men pass with morticians around
With linens and blankets so clean
But seldom a cadaver goes underground
Without his slight tinge of green
Then there is a smell, an expulsion is heard
Our lunches are lost to the meadow
Will it mix with our loved one down there below?
I'm certain we never will know
Although our families have violently expelled
No clean up attempts can be seen
Our hopes for our loved ones in the dark Earth sealed
Now lie in a slight tinge of green

this is awful, do u realize how precious this song is, and what it truly ment to people back then, if you could listen to the real song you would understand the meaning of it, how dare you take such a beautiful song and turn it into something like that. think about what the real song is saying about men trapped underground with nothing to do but die in their sleep. how could you
It was easy. I was thinking of you !
I HAVE heard the song. It is a very beautiful song about very dire circumstances. THIS is a PARODY about the decomposition and liquefaction of all bodies after death. It is a play on words and means nothing in relation to the original
