| Parody Song Title: | "The Math Carol" |
| Parody Written by: | Amanda N. & Dad |
We found a misspelling in the real lyrics which made "angels" into "angles." So we got inspired....
O' come all ye slide rules
Compass and protractors
O' come ye, come ye to Polygons
Come and compute them
Measure all the angles
We love to do subtraction
We love to do addition
We even love to theorize on
Pythagoras
I see triangles
Right and equilateral
I see four sided shapes like parallelograms
Stuff made of Circles
Spheres and cones and cylinders
If this doesn't bore you
Should probably study more you'll
never know when you'll need
to calculate pi
Compass and protractors

I like to calculate pi. In fact, I'm gonna calculate a little pumpkin pi right now! Oddly enough, the amount of pi I consume is a reliable means of calculating the area of my, ummm, circumference . . . Time for weight-watchers again! Merry Christmas!
Pi are square
Makes you round
Please explain to me
With this theory, I could see
Round pegs is square holes, gee!
Guess the tune. Merry Christmas.

Circumferences don't have areas, they're one-dimensional. Volume of my stomach, though: 4/3 x pie x roulades and Walkers' squares.
I don't know Polygons from from Parfait Jello Grams, but I do know a snappy little parody when I see one.
I always make this joke. The three most important things I learned in elementary school. 1. English is the language of the land. 2. The country is going metric. 3. Learn to use a slide rule. I can't imagine anyone under 40 that even knows what one is.
LOL........I've been doing math home work with my 13 year old, and this is like deja vu. Thank heavens school is out for another week! I need a break from home work.
5 to the third power for a good job!!!
