Song Parodies -> Amiright Name Drop
| Original Song Title: | "I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus" |
| Original Performer: | Traditional |
| Parody Song Title: | "Amiright Name Drop" |
| Parody Written by: | MooRocca |
Some of the author names have been plugging themselves into this song, in my head, for awhile, now. It may help to know how I (mis?)pronounce certain of those names: The "W" in wdh is "double you" -- "Lebeiw15" = "le beau fifteen" (beau rhymes with toe) -- "Adagio" = "uh DAH zhee oh" I double checked my pacing against this midi: http://www.geocities.com/Vienna/Strasse/2510/ISMKSC.mid
Guy, Tong, Merry, Pippin, Spaff and Claude,
Wildman and Diva, Amiright
Know One Can Hear You Dream,

Melhi, from the master of name droppers, I approve!
Hmm, obviously my name isn´t impossible to dreamcatch into a line. ;-)
Thanks for the read and rate, Wildman and K1CHD. I wasn't going to submit this and then I thought, "eh, what the heck." My only regret is that not every name I'd like to have mentioned found a place in the melody. Wildman, I look very forward to the next demonstration of your expertise! Lots of outstanding parodies for you to choose from, this month -- I don't envy you trying to narrow it down to a single song's worth! Thanks again, guys!
Wow, Melhi, fantastic syllable-arrangement....you've got a musical ear for sure! Beautiful !
Wow, Johnny D., thanks for the great compliment. I've been digging your stuff, too and I'm fast becoming a Johnny D. fan. :)
Dear Melhi--I'm touched by your use of my full name! Great job and thanks. d;:^)
From the scores, it looks like flattery will get you everywhere around here :-)
Thanks Bob and Steven. Aww, you're welcome Bob. Steven... yeah, now I'm thinking I should have submitted this, sooner! (Just kidding) Thanks again, guys!
Im not in here :-(
Billy, I have this dilema every time I drop names in a parody. If I can't use everyone, so I feel like I'm letting someone down. Look in tommorow's posts for a >Halloween< Surprise.
Billy, I am so sorry. Yours is one of those names I was talking about, above, that I wish had made an appearance.
Hey Billy: just for you, to the same tune I should mention Billy Florio
Missed him in the song, above, tonight
He's been so good to me
And I love his parodies
Especially a Christmas one that really tickles me!

Clever use of names!! And thanks for the mention.
Melhi Christmas to you; don't know for sure but this may be a record number of names you have in there. Impressive.
this was hysterical! great pacing & everything 2.
Thanks Pat, Claude and Greesha! You're welcome, Pat!
I agree with the previous comments and am flattered that you were able to squeeze me in and unable to squeeze in Phil Alexander (and others).
Thanks John! Phil... Phil... doesn't ring a bell. (Just kidding!!!)
;-)
Shrinking away..with tail between legs...guess we're too new too be mentioned amongst the dinosaurs on this site...BOO HOO
Btw.... very clever combination of names in your parody....
Thanks Smurf and Horse! Well, you were too new to get a mention in this one, but only because this one had already written itself in my head before you got here. :)
Hi Phil. :)
Hi Phil. :)
LOL, Melhi, I was only joking, but thanks anyway lol...I got a whole little verse to myself lol
Glad it made that frown go away, Billy. :)
Sorry I'm late Melhi, very nice and thanks for your mention! =)
Diva, thanks and you're welcome!
I might have to do one of these to get back in the top 10 sometime (or just write better stuff than I have recently =)
You left out Melhi!
Melhi wrote this parody, Spaff.
No kidding?
Jeff, this one made 10th place in the pacing category for just one day -- and, as you can see, it didn't get straight 5s on pacing, even though my wondering whether anyone, besides me, would get a kick out of the perfect pacing was the only thing that prompted me to even consider submitting it. (Pacing is the category I always aim highest in, so I may have also had a subconcious desire to show it off, a little.).
If you're aiming for the top tens, don't watch me for clues about how to get there, I get a decent amount of votes and usually get pretty high numbers, at that, but I don't usually get enough votes to break the top twenty, even with my best parodies. I just consider it a pleasant fluke when it does happen and I don't sweat it when it doesn't. You write good stuff, Jeff -- really good stuff. Hitting or not hitting the top 10 doesn't change that. :)
Spaff, it wrote itself in my head without my intervention... the cadence of the names, as I pronounce them, had them plugging themselves into the melody over a period of time. I'd been singing it in my head for some time before submitting it. Hope you enjoyed it.

Thanks Melhi...I really don't shoot for the top 10, that's not my goal for writing. My comment was more a dig at myself...I've had fun writing my recent parodies, but I don't think they've been as good as Boob Operation, Lunch Is A Happy Meal, or Pop Goes The Ad (I was on a roll a few months back). Then again, it's tailgate season, so I've just been on a beer kick =) Anyway, I did enjoy this...and I'm glad you enjoy the stuff I write!
Wow...that is talent Thanx for the mention.
Woohoo! Mention! *parties* My name pronunctiation and what it stands for is clearly a mystery with history.....pronouncing, I've had everything from "double you dee ache" to "woodie" to "that damned food guy." In terms of what it means, it's gone from "what da hell" to "wang does hurt" to "wacky dosage hippie." Go figure
Thanks STG and you're welcome. (Sorry I didn't see your comment, sooner!)
Party on, wdh! The evolution of the meaning behind your nick is pretty cool! (Lots of good possibilities, for future meanings, too!) I had assumed it was either the first definition or your real initials.
*Cranks up the music and refills the snack bowls*
