This parody was inspired by a little pamphlet I picked up at the post office, called "Let's Keep The Mail Safe". It is in both English and Spanish, and is basically about what one can and cannot send in the U.S. Mail, laws regarding such things, and the punishments for sending flammable, corrosive, explosive, radioactive or biologically hazardous. *For all you non-American parody enthusiasts, Leavenworth is a United States federal prison in the state of Kansas.
Let's keep the mail safe, now
Don't send no gasoline
If you send the petrol, you'll go to the hoosegow
Don't send no Everclear, now
Or you'll get a huge fine
And the feds scan the mail, every day and night
If you send some signal flares
The G-men will come by
And you'll go to jail for more than a fortnight
Don't send the mercury, now
That quicksilver won't go through
But you will go to jail
And your civil rights, you will lose

What alvin said...here's a tip.. try counting syllables in each line of the original and match 'em that way
Thanks, AFW... I'll take your advice when the time comes to write more parodies. I am currently seeking employment, so I will have less time on my hands to write parodies but will still comment.
