The Lyrics

The recent end of the world prophecies have sparked a new interest in spiritual matters. This song came to me the other night. The important thing is not to focus on a particular date, but to be prepared for any eventuality.
Walking through the Valley
Of the Shadow, I am not alone
He's walking through the Valley with me

He leads me to the garden
By the waters, he reposes me
He's walking through the valley with me

Jesus is there at my side
He'll be be my Shepherd and Guide
Though I travel through the darkness, and the danger
I will have no fear
With his rod and his staff he is near

He sets for me a table
In the presence of the enemy
My cup is overflowing with love

Goodness and Mercy provide
With Him, forever abide
Though the pathway may be rocky, and the light dim
He will show the Way
I'm walking through the Valley with Him

If all does end at six on Saturday, I guess we're gonna' need all the religion we can soak up...between now and then.

It's Sunday, and I'm still here ... but people will *still* listen and panic at the next doomsayer, as they have for ages.

I checked http://www.amiright.com/parody/misc/julieandrews50.shtml
and it doesn't address your outro. If it did, then every author here is guilty, on all 70,000+ songs.

I'm not much for proselytizing or being proselytized at, the above link notwithstanding, but the idea was (almost! ;) original, and well-executed, so 555. And you have a lifetime's worth of material with which to work. ;)

Very well done.

I warmed up my falsetto to sing this perfectly paced parody. I rated it the sum of the 23rd Psalm's digits in every category, and would add one stanza for those who gave up their life savings in anticipation of the Rapture.

Ripped off were believers
Of false prophet Harold Camping, he
Then zipped off with the profit, tee-hee!
