Rationing is coming to Medicare, whether or not ObamaCare is repealed or replaced; so at my advanced age, I write this while I remain able. I would have repeated the four full stanzas as in TOS, but I couldn't remember them.
'Nother soul down to the coroner;
That's a closing-curtain sign
That bedding smells are shakin' up
That old gang of mine.
All the "boys" have got Alzheimers;
They forgot each "bad ol' time."
Nurse story-tellings wake 'em up,
Uphold hanging spine.
There goes Jack, there goes Jim
Down to bed in pain.
Come heaven, they're fleet again,
But they now seem more lame.
Gee, I get a lonesome feelin'
When I hear those church knells chime.
Close funerals are breakin' up
That old gang of mine.
I'm shedding cells while makin' up
This whole dangling line.

JAB - Great old song, fine new parody! The Four Aces actually do perform on PBS 50's reunion concerts and I believe still have most if not all of their original members. Lead singer Al Alberts still has a good voice, but...do all Four Aces songs have to have that irritating "thump-da-thump-da-thump-da-thump" dotted figure underneath in the background? Again, good job! ;D

OMR: Thanks anyway, I'm not offended easily. I avoid PBS fundathons, so didn't know of The Four Aces' longevity. I'm glad to learn of it.
