This silly little toss-off was inspired by a comment "Guy" left another song which-- surely punningly-- mentions "... a Sci-Fi movie called the Blog." In fact, a 1958 cult classic called "The Blob" featured, in addition to Steve McQueen's 2nd (credited) big-screen role, an eponymous theme song--"jingle," really, considering its brevity--co-written by none other than Burt Bacharach, whose rhyme and rhythm I've endeavored here to match syllable-for-syllable with a simple statement as sensibe as, if differing from, the original's. :-)

short but sweet...and i second your opinion of the remake
"Blog" sounds like something that would get stuck in a cat's throat. When it comes to appalling remakes, nothing is worse that the Gus van Sant remake of "Psycho."
Thanks, JB & Alvin ... re horrible horror remakes, I've gotta rank tied for worst Chuck Russell's botching of "The Blob" and the mess John Carpenter made of "The Thing." OTOH, I thought Philip Kaufman's 1978 redo of "Invasion of the Body Snatchers" scarier, even as a grownup, than I remember thinking the original as a then-10 kid. Maybe it's just that Sutherland hissing is scarier than McCarthy hamming. :-)
Sir Stan, I do favor those old 50's black & white(Opps. . . Sorry Cowboy Dave!!! ) films, in fact "The MisFits" is a favorite of mine. But the scary ones I abstain from Sir, as they make me shutter . . . my mind just gets too scared !
