The Lyrics

Rank Deja Vu

I wandered one day to a town in a valley,
A place I am sure I had never been to.
Everybody I met seemed vaguely familiar.
I found they were all rank deja vu.

Everybody I met seemed vaguely familiar.
I had this strange feeling that they had it too.
I couldn't quite place their names with their faces.
I found they were all rank deja vu.

"I know you from somewhere", said a voice from the dim past.
I felt that of course I'd met him too.
We played at "Do you know....?", for over an hour,
But we never discovered a soul we both knew.

I'd like to go back to that town in the valley
Where folks feel connected but haven't a clue.
I've looked on the map but I never could find it.
Yet I still get this feeling of Rank Deja Vu.

Ooooh, one of my Stanley faves and already in my player when I spotted it in the new parodies list! Pacing doesn't match exactly with the original lyric, but your lyrics fall easily into the melody when I sing along with the original. You got straight fives outta me. :)
