The Lyrics
In Vienna, Paul Baumgartl designed by 1942 a strap-on autogyro for sporting use. This was quickly funded by the Nazis for a powered version called the Heliofly III-57 which was powered by two Argus 8 engines of 8 hp each that powered two contra-rotating blades. The engines themselves spun and acted as counter-balancers. Once that flew Baumgartl moved forward with the Heliofly III-59 small one-man helo. In Austria, Baumgartl was known for his Heliofly machines while Nagler-Rolz perfected the mini-copter and WNF developed the jet helo with wing tip burners. All were examamined by the US postwar...
