The Lyrics

If anyone remembers WW2, then they should recall a strange German half-track motorcycle made by NSU- the SdKfz 2 which was initially carried by the Ju-52 transport to aid in gun towing. It could also carry 2 infantry, lay cables, and even served the Luftwaffe as an aircraft tug for the Me-262 and Ar-234 jets to the runway to conserve fuel (they didn't have to waste fuel by taxiing). This strange vehicle was seen on every front since 1941 in N Africa, the ETO, MTO, and Ostfront. It served the German Army and Luftwaffe well while an amphibious version was being built for the Kriegsmarine for towing light water craft and torpedo carriers!!! Everyone loves this little odd bike and 8345 were manufactured with another 500 postwar for agricultural work!!! Made by NSU...
SdKfz 2
ran just fine

Gun-carrier for Ju-52
Luftwaffe flyin’

On the frontline

All loved you
All loved you
All loved you
Served on every front
Opel 4 cylinder, 36 hp
Towing guns and infantry
Me-262 was even larger!

Towing capacity

These show up in some of the war movies. A very practical vehicle. Last year I attended an airshow and it seemed the planes spent more time and fuel running their engines waiting to taxi than they did in actually flying.
