The Lyrics

The World War II Sturmtiger was a huge monster of a machine built on a PzKpfw VI chassis, but with a fixed turret that held a 380mm naval rocket projector that was meant as an assault gun able to endure heavy street-fighting. One shot could take out any building and it had sloping armor up to 6" thick to resist the best the Allies had in firepower. But it weighed 65 tons, was slow, and only carried 14 rounds. Only 18 were produced in 1944 and saw little action. Most were abandoned due to fuel shortages in 1945. Although feared, the US Army was fascinated by the machine.
Sturmtiger in World War II
on front line

65 ton monster with 5 crew
25 mph drivin’
380mm firin’

German assault gun bandit
Rollin’ through a town
15” gun was deadly
When fired, could knock a building down!

Sturmtiger in World War II
on front line
12 feet wide

They feared you
They feared you
They feared you
Sloped armor 6” thick
759 lb rocket there
Had to be handled delicately
14 rounds ran out quick

For supremacy

The Sturmtiger was part of the series that included the Tiger I, Tiger II (King Tiger), Ferdinand, and Jagdtiger...

That limited ammunition supply would have been a real handicap. I would imagine it could knock a building down just trying to turn a street corner. Did any of these survive in a museum?

Patrick, yes... did you copy & paste the last 3 links in my bottom box here? This "restored and fully operational" Sturmtiger has been moved from the Wehrtechnik Museum in Koblenz to the Auto & Technik Museum in Sinsheim.

Went back and looked at the photo. Saw the picture from the Warsaw Uprising. I imagine that rocket gases raised havoc with the crew, no matter how well they were vented. I'm trying to picture the support vehicle and crew trying to load additional rounds during battle.
