The Lyrics

This is about all the DARPA/CIA research over the past two decades on MAVs (Micro-Air Vehicles) that mimick bird and insect flight for recon. Some are bio-mechanical while others are micro helos or bird imitators. Many have either flapping ornithopter wings or micro-rotors. Their advantage is the ability to infilitrate in plain sight, mistaken for an insect or bird. Others are meant as "Flies with Eyes" on walls to report on Al Qaida and other terror organizations. The US isn't the only nation that is pioneering this tech- so is Europe and many other nations arounf the globe. German Microdrones already patrol parts of Europe. Size varies, but in this case the US is pushing for insect-to-bird size which would be a vast leap forward in this technology.
MAVs in inventory too
made for spyin’

UAVs incredibly smaller than U-2
Micro-spyin’
Ornithopter-flyin’

The terrorists can’t stand it
Mecha-insects flyin’ around
Gonna recon their compounds
“Fly with an Eye” on the ground

MAVs in inventory too
made for spyin’
Joint service conniving’

Wing-drones flew
Wing-drones flew
Wing-drones flew
R&D paid-off somehow
And Pentagon doesn’t care
If DARPA requests more money
Democracy needs them- right now!!!

Silent sentries
MAVs in inventory too
made for spyin’
(Weapons of the 21st century)

At the last gun show I saw some toy helicopters, 10 to 12 inches long, selling for around $40. If you can get that much performance out of a cheap toy, just think what the CIA could do for a few thousand a piece and today's miniaturization. People wanting to know what was going on somewhere have always said "I wish I could be a fly on the wall". Now they can be.

Patrick, the Germans performed recon with pigeons as early as WW1 and in WW2 had the tiny Argus As-292 which is in Schiffer's book on German Missiles of WW2. The LW modified it to carry Zeiss cameras and none were ever lost. Germans also have been working on Micro helos and insectamechs!!!
