London was hit by thousands of German V-weapons during WW2, but they were a tremendous waste of German Reichsmarks. Worse, the V-1 could be intercepted by piston fighters as well as the British jet Meteor and the V-2 was inaccurate and not really suited as a strategic war weapon with pin-point accuracy. It was merely a terror and propaganda weapon that served the Allies well postwar to develop ICBMs and space rockets...
