Parody Song Title:

"Old Man Winter"

Parody Written by:

Scathe

Ah yes, winter. Who doesn't enjoy this season? Anyone who relates to this parody that's who.
There's an old man who is a season;
That's the old man that some hate to see.
What does he care if we've got the shivers.
What does he care if we all freeze..

Old Man Winter,
That Old Man Winter
He must be blowing
Cause it keeps snowing,
He just keeps going,
He keeps blowing along.

He don't like driveways,
He don't like walking,
And them that's driving
Will soon be stalling,
But Old Man Winter,
He just keeps blowing along.

Those that know they go insane
Body all aching from scraping panes
See that sky, it looks pale
Get's a little cloudy and
it starts to hail...

I get angry and tired of trying
I'm tired of shoveling
And fear more snowing
And Old Man Winter,
He just keeps blowing along.

The only reason I like Winter...is because it's the only road to Spring.. Good job, well paced..

Love the original, actually sang it as part of my voice training in college. BTW, great rewrite too, gives me the shivers! 5 frozen fingers up!

Voted on this earlier but never commented. Great idea, very good job. We got 22 inches of snow in 24 hours here right before Christmas and it was the shoveling that just about killed me.

(SOTM Wild Card) Say, isn't this parody the most well-known song from "Snowboat" ?

(SOTM WildCard) A fine parody. You'd think he'd retire by now, but Mother Nature gives a lousy pension.

I grew up around people who longed for the winter so that they could ski. Such people, of course, are idiots; skiing is just something you do to make the most of a bad situation. Old Man Winter BLOWS. This parody doesn't. Nice job, Scathe.

Good song...I'm one of the idiots...of course, I'd only go to Utah to ski, then come back to somewhat relatively warm Maryland. It's a novelty thing.

(wild card) winter's far from my mind, but cold is better than hot, imho - nice work Scathe

In southern California, temperatures were in the 80s today, so I don't really relate to the parody, but I do recognize it as very clever. And I appreciate the reminder of why I don't move.

Damn, DKTOS. Looks like a quality work here, at least in terms of rhyme scheme. Sometimes I wonder why that old man just won't die, but then I slide down one of his snow-filled hills and I remember why I'd miss him.

(N) Hot is better; at least when you sweat it gets evaporated (well, except in VA where its 95% humidity year round) rather than freeze to you. Great parody Scathe.

(ABC) Still a smoooooth parody. But quit yer bitching about snow, the most we Aussies get is half an inch on the car windshield once every six years.
