There was always a Pooper Moon
In the door of that shed out back
Just the slice of a lunar pie
To vent our tiny shack..
Used to be a thick catalog
Somewhere next to the hole it'd lay
Sears and Roebuck's soft index page,
Was Charmin of it's day..
There's where we sat
For good regularity
We all used that
Before bathrooms could be..indoors, you see
It was kind of a crude old world
Back before Nineteen Forty-Three
In the midwest, and my hometown,
To function normally..
Half moon cut there
Was for more than decorative,
To draw fresh air..
Circulation to give,
So the user could live...
Some remember that Pooper Moon
An old symbol of yesteryear
Now, we're thankful for modern times
When we relieve our rear..
Yes, we're thankful for modern times
When we relieve our rear..
In the door of that shed out back
Just the slice of a lunar pie
To vent our tiny shack..
Used to be a thick catalog
Somewhere next to the hole it'd lay
Sears and Roebuck's soft index page,
Was Charmin of it's day..
There's where we sat
For good regularity
We all used that
Before bathrooms could be..indoors, you see
It was kind of a crude old world
Back before Nineteen Forty-Three
In the midwest, and my hometown,
To function normally..
Half moon cut there
Was for more than decorative,
To draw fresh air..
Circulation to give,
So the user could live...
Some remember that Pooper Moon
An old symbol of yesteryear
Now, we're thankful for modern times
When we relieve our rear..
Yes, we're thankful for modern times
When we relieve our rear..

So AFW, after reading your other entry today, I have to ask ... are you having a crappy day or just on a roll? Anyway, here're 555 calaog pages for ostalgia's sake. :-)
Did you use up all your toilet paper? You must have had a lot of houses on your agenda. The security code - euz - is fitting.
my fave of the day....the subject matter fit the nostalgic tone of the OS quite well
Sir L'Air de Farce, ~The Duke 0'Moonin' Parody~ Thank you, sir, for the history lesson concernig the cut-out design on demAusHausen! Zehr gut, mein Herr !
Funny commenting, Stan...and 2Eag...thanks, alvin, and LCC
This gives a whole new meaning to shootin' the moon. And no, Farce, you need not take TP to a crap game. I can remember that there were still outhouses in my neighborhood when I was a kid. The Company sold the houses (family dwellings) to the residents, I have been told, around 1945. I can only remember about two outhouses that were still in use when I was very young. I suppose that there was no indoor plumbing there before 1945. As I remember they lacked the cresent moon. Then I can remember one day a neighbor had a fire - It started in the bathroom but luckily did not reach the house.
Thanks, Guy...very funny commenting, as usual
