"If You Love Barack Obama"

Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

US President Obama entreated recent audiences, "If you love me, help me pass this bill" in Virginia, Ohio, etc. That reminded me of this song from the 1950s. He won't sing these lyrics to that tune, so you should.
If my polls should tumble from the sky,
If the till should suddenly run dry, [1]
If you love me, really love me,
Help me pass my "bill of fair". [2]

It's a dream my peers would pick apart. [3]
I can still be speaking from my heart.
If you love me, really love me,
Tell the Congress there's no time to spare.

Shall I patch your roads with tar?
I can bring jobs where you are,
If you only pay your share. [4]
I can't wait 'til bridges fall;
I'll do many things this Fall,
As long as union's there. [5]

When at last four years of dearth are through,
I will share three memoir books with you. [6]
If you love me, really love me,
Buy them soon, before the tax is Fair. [7]

If you cast your votes for my Term Two,
Medicare, Security are through.
Then I'll govern, really govern;
You'll be trapped into Obama-care.

Just don't listen to Obama-scare!
[1] If US debt hits the new limit or Treasury bonds, bills and notes become unsalable.
[2] His "American Jobs Act" under which the "rich" pay their "fair share" of taxes.
[3] House and Senate leaders say it's DOA but parts may pass.
[4] Federal grants usually do not cover 100%.
[5] The bill requires "prevailing wages" to be paid.
[6] "Dreams From My Father", "The Audacity of Hope", and one to be written in 2013, I hope and dream.
[7] A Federal sales tax has been proposed to replace the income tax.

BJM - And now it comes to this! "If you love me, you'll..."! This line, along with "What are you, a Wimp?" has led to countless crimes, sins, and acts of bad judgment. Now there'll be one more. Good work, ;D

The bill must be passed, even if you only respect him. If you don't respect him, well, it's like his predecessor said: Either you're with us, or you're with the terrorists. In this case, the economic terrorists. A national sales tax will pass over my dead body, because it will end up destroying what's left of the middle class.

I wrote this on Friday evening, Sept. 16; on Monday moning, BHO gave another speech revealing that it's a tax bill not a jobs bill. So much for his feint to the center; that won no independents, so he's back to the left base.

Barack Obama's Job Act Negates Gainful Labor & Employment Statistics.

Bill Robinson, aka "Mr.Bojangles", was a premier song and dance man in the early 20th century.

In early 21st century,Barack Obama's song and dance routine is old, predictable, and flaccid

BoJs: LoL! A Brit on this side once marvelled at how DC pols get mnemonic names for bills. Perhaps you have a future there, once BHO is gone.
I have a book subtitle waiting for an author (not BHO): How One Progressive Extremist And Nefarious Democrats Conspired Haughtily, Augmenting Never-ending Government Expansion.

ROFLMAO! The most hilariously appropriate mnemonic yet! Any author worthy enough to flesh out that book should first study the BJM canon for guidance and inspiration.

BoJs: Thanks; i didn't mean to step over your clever mnemonic pseudonym.
I just thought of a better fit to TOS for Line 15: "When at last my wife's coercion's through," (recognizing her war on childhood obesity)

Changing Line 13 to "At stronger union fare." would complement footnote 5.
