Parody Song Title:

"Heartless America"

Parody Written by:

Barry J. Mitchel

As rumors fly about cost savings from the USA Medicare budget to help fund universal health care, I express the concerns of many who now are satisfied with this program after it was expanded into the free market a few years ago. Here is a "Senior Foment" of this OS.
Health insurers rather would not losses see,
They would dare to ease us to senility.
Let us all be grateful that a cancel's rare,
As we praise the choices in old Medicare.

Heartless America, land where health czar
Stands beside you to guide your
Patient rights 'neath the lights from ER.
He will count how few your QARYs,
Screw emotions, send you home.
Smartest Americans write health care tomes.
Congress can't carry cost for nursing homes.
ER = emergency room, QARY = Quality-Adjusted Remaining Years.

Quality Adjusted Remaining Years. It's Acronym City once again. Remember the movie "Children of Men"? Suicide drugs were advertised on billboards but pot was still illegal. QARY. The fact that the govt could come up with such a concept is proof enough it should stay out of medicine.

Clearly you've all been misinformed by talk radio and Fox News, or else you misread some section of the Kpage bill. And no doubt some well-heeled Republican paid you to comment and vote favorably on this parody. Admit it! ;=)

Um, Patrick, you're using a work of fiction as proof?
