"West to the Indies"
Parody Written by:

The Lyrics
Columbus left Europe in Fourteen-Ninety-two
With the Pinta, and the Niņa, and the Santa Maria too.
He crossed the Atlantic Ocean, and landed on a foreign shore,
He thought he'd come to China, but it was just San Salvador.
People called him crazy 'cause he said the world was round,
But good Queen Isabella figured that his plan was sound.
She hocked her rocks and fronted him with the badly-needed dough.
He bought some boats, and hired some hands, and a-sailing he did go.
CHORUS:
Where the tradewinds are blowing, the Dagoes are going -
West to the Indies! You go east by sailing west.
Columbus climbed the ratlines with his long-glass in his hand.
He looked into the distance, and he saw a patch of land.
He said "Hot dog! There's India, or maybe it's Japan.
I'm gonna get a big reward from Old King Ferdinand!
"He'll give me lots of money that I can call all mine.
Especially since this new route was so hard to find!
I'll build with my treasure a split-level home
On the banks of the River Tiber, just a little outside of Rome!"
(REPEAT CHORUS)
