First, if you are rating this, I followed the original's "pacing" and "timing" to the letter. Your "beef" is with Johnny Horton rather than me. Second, I DID feel that "North To Alaska" might have been a more appropriate tune. It's also much more obscure and difficult to use. Finally, any personal opinions by the parodist are not necessarily reflected in this song.
Verse:
In autumn of two-thousand-eight things just weren't going fine
Obama had a great big lead - McCain was way behind
Obama thought he had the race tucked tightly in his palm
Then McCain unveiled his runnung mate and dropped an atom bomb
Out of the frozen rocky north came the answer to his prayers
A force more strong and fearsome than forty polar bears
When Sarah Palin paired with John they made an awesome team
And the liberals and Democrats - they all began to scream

We've got to trash that lousy tramp who's making such a fuss!
So what if she's a woman - she isn't one of us!
