The Lyrics

From the operetta "The Pirates of Penstanzas". Numbers following these names are the number of parodies they submitted as of 7/14/05.
At the Author Index as you may casually surf around
You'll find yourself a list of major parodists
The Amiright songwriters, so prolific and profound
So now let's describe the gist--The Top 10 Parodists

There's the British Malcolm Higgins [1387] who writes it all for laughs
'Bout people who have flabby glands and other social gaffes
William Tong [1176] who hates the Red States and politics like that
'Specially for he who wrung his hands and led invasion of Iraq
And good Rick Duncan [787] who's fun humor you cannot resist
(His wife Mari he kissed)--He's third guy on the list

They're prolific parodists, they're prolific parodists
So they made the Top 10 List, they made the Top 10 List

Now John Barry, so creative, puts a smile upon your face
He's written many hits--he's fourth here on this list
And the one named John Pacholek [756], he's from Joisey--in your face!
But he's not an egotist--he's cinco on the list
That guy, DeRito[677], praise him, he wrote 7 songs for "One"
Wrote "Techies Nerds and Geeks", and "Barbara Bush's Son"
And Tokusu Sentai Blessranger[624], a crazy kind of guy,
Who rarely matches song pace; I don't think he cares to try
Then the one named Johnny D[546] --the cunning linguist!
That wacky satirist--he's eighth upon the list

They're prolific parodists, they're prolific parodists
So they made the Top 10 List, they made the Top 10 List

And Phil Alexander [532] here now often writes of U.K. life
And of grammar and physics--number 9 on this here list
And Alvin Rhodes [496], comic man, South Park Al second life
No way he can be dissed, he's tenth guy on this list

All apologies--if you write less, you aren't quality deprived:
See Bob Pags-- Martha--Red Ant--and Agri-(never mind)
Mike Squirrel, and Spaff.com--and yes, Adagio...
The task of writing up this song is daunting, don't you know
Before I neglect to name folks who'll end up being pissed
Thank Chuck for all of this, thank Chuck for all of this

They're prolific parodists! they're prolific parodists!
So they made the Top 10 List, they made the Top 10 List!

Excellent, Agri - the top ten parodists and King ChuckyG represent all that is good about AmIright, and no matter how organised those lewd submitters get they will never EVER destroy that, so help me God - 555

Thank you Stu. And you are welcome Bob & John. I hope many worthy others who did not get mentioned do not feel left out.

Excellent. And I just want to say that I stand shoulder to shoulder with my Australian friend in his resolve.

Unlike Groucho, I'm happy to join a club that would have me as a member. Thanks

Nice job! I thought at first this was "Behold the Lord High Executioner, a personage of noble rank and title . . ." so I had to read a few lines before I realized it was the "I've got a little list" number. This was an excellent little list and an excellent parody! These fives surely would be missed - so here they come . . .

A spanking good song--except I believe you are referring to Mike Pacholek, not John.

Bob: Awwwww crap!!!! Mike P: my deepest apologies. This is quite embarrassing!! Rick D & Johnny: Youre' welcome! Serafina and Alvin: Thanks! PS: Remind me anyone how to insert breaks in lines on comments?

Great work here Agrimorfee. Did you cut your name on short out of modesty/rhyming reasons or because it gets misspelled so often? To break up paragraphs type the ^ pointing left, capital letters BR then ^ pointing right, twice in a row. The "Break" key doesn't work for me.

Thanks for the shout out here and thanks to ChuckyG for this site.=)

Ah well, I guess that means I'm not using this song, after all... never mind: I have another idea. Or two, come to think of it :-) What fun, Agrimorfee...

Phil - the rules have changed so each G&S song can be used to a maximum of 3 times - see starting comment on the thread

Actually, John is my father, and let's just say he wasn't pleased on the day he Googled the family name and this site came up. Especially since he doesn't know a lot of the original songs here (classical music fan), so a lot of the better Amiright jokes are lost on him. Despite this, I get my sense of humor from him, so if you're looking for somebody to blame... be careful, 'cause unlike me, he's kinda big and he's awful strong.

DKTOS, but a good one. And, thanks for putting my name in there.
Stuart McArthur - July 15, 2005 - Report this comment
aha! Stray Pooch's encyclopaedic knowledge of G and S solved the bizarre pacing problems I was having with this Agri - it's not "The Lord High Executioner's Song" at all - it's "They'll None Of 'Em Be Missed" - and when I played the MIDI of THAT to these words, they fit like a second skin - excellent excellent stuff
Agrimorfee - July 15, 2005 - Report this comment
G&S titles ARE a bitch, ain't they? :)
Spaff.com - July 15, 2005 - Report this comment
Guess I'm gonna hafta get familiar with G&S stuff. DKTOS, Aggro, but this is still a fine tribute. At my current pace, it'll take me eight more YEARS to make the top ten (and that's only if everyone else stops writing), so thanks for the gratuitous shout-out to a guy who's currently in a three-way tie for #42.

(T) ahh, memories - that "P who P" thing was such a fun exercise Agri, and this was such a critical part of it, and like I said in my 13th (?) comment here, the pacing of this is so tight it fits the OS like a second skin - great tribute
