The Lyrics

VERSE:

Oh, they say some thirsters long ago
We're huntin' for a tasty mix
Somethin' with some kicks
To bottle and can..
They only had the want to,
As, they started lookin', doncha' know..
They weren't too sure just what to use,
So, this is how the booze
Really began..

CHORUS:

They soaked old socks
With some ox
Poured in slime
From the docks,
And they called it
The start of the booze..

They boiled goose swill
In a still,
Somewhere high
On a hill,
Then they stirred that
As part of the booze..

Got potato rot
Fermenting hot,
Putrid and stinking..
Maggoty rice,
Added some twice,
What were they thinking?

And then, they cursed it,
Dispersed it,
And spit on their shoes..
Informed AA,
About The Birth Of The Booze..

That old potato rot,
Fermenting hot,
Putrid and stinking..
(Yuk) Maggoty rice,
Added it twice,
What were they thinking?

So, then they cursed it,
They dispersed it,
Spit on their shoes...
And informed AA
'Bout The Birth Of The Booze..
Ooooohhh.....yeaaaaaahhh...

That was so funny! I was literally laughing out loud. Just so you know, the original song is also availible on a cd called "Heroes and Friends", a set of duets featuring Randy Travis. It's great.

Great job, AFW...5s, although I misread it. I thought the title was "Birth of the Boozer" and, thought it was about me.
