Original Song Title:

Original Performer:

Parody Song Title:

"Make it So"

Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

The inspiration for this one is a YouTube parody where Capt Picard "sings" Let it Snow. The trick is that the video takes dozens of discrete video snips where Picard is mouthing a word that matches the lyrics and mashes them together. But instead of saying "Let it Snow" as a refrain he is saying "Make it So". So I thought I would give Pickard his own lyrics to sing to match "Make it so"
Oh, the Borg cube outside is frightful
But Bev's eyes are so delightful
If you need an OK to blow*
Make it so
Make it so
Make it so

Oh, the hull seemed close to buckling
So this tractor beam's got me chuckling
If anyone can break this tow
Make it so
Make it so
Make it so

If we never do win this fight
How I'd hate being a serf of the Borg
But now that I rethink it twice
It beats being a stiff in a morgue

So, resistance is clearly futile
So say I, in voice Locut-ile
Absorption is the way to go
Make it so
Make it so
Make it so

*(Blow as in "Let's blow this pop-stand" or "Let's blow this Borg-infested quadrant" or "Let's blow this Borg-fest, Ma-a-a-a-n!" Don't you even be thinking those thoughts about Dr Bev ......... Now that we've cleared that up, how about a holiday double? This one commemorates the first snowfall in Cairo in 112 years)

Oh, the weather outside is frightful
But your veil, my Dear's, delightful
Got me randier than a grand pharaoh
Let it snow
Let it snow
Let it snow

Oh, I went to my first white wedding
And Al Giza's ripe for sledding
Doesn't happen much in old Cairo
Let it snow
Let it snow
Let it snow

When I finally get to the mosque
How I'll hate bowing down in the snow
But if my forehead gets nipped with frost
A double barrakah# is bestowed

Oh, the snowpack is not quite melted
And my she-camel just got pelted
We're skating on the great Nile-oh
Let it snow
Let it snow
Let it snow
#barrakah -- a blessing, or more precisely, a sort of Islamic credit which counters the debit of a bad deed. This snowfall did, in fact occur on Friday, the day that Muslims go to mosques for public prayer

I'm not a "Trekkie" but here's fives...quite a coincidence, that you and Michael both submit Star Trek parodies on the same day

It's "Trekker", not "Trekkie" and this parody is not that funny. Beavis and Butthead did it better in their movie when Beavis as Picard tells Butthead as Riker "Number 1, I order you to take a Number 2!!!"

Are you sure, Mr. Big Knows...when googled, Wikipedia lists "Trekkie" as meaning a fan of Star Trek..

Not only the same subject matter, AFW, but also same kind of OS -- Christmas carol. HELL of a coincidence! ........ But then again, Mike and I think so much alike (Baroomp CHING!)

I'm not a trekkie either or... trekker or... whatever the heck you wanna call it but often times Star Trek is a good subject for parodies 5's!
A Trekker - December 17, 2013 - Report this comment
Purist fans of TOS called themselves "Trekkers" while other less devoted identified themselves as "Trekkies" which covers TOS and all subsequent incarnations. And one can even find in the fandom a simple "Trek Fan" too! The joke about Star Trekking is in the movie version #8. It doesn't matter what Gene said later about the fan choice of "Trekkie" as the actual fans invented the identifications, not him! If you were a fan of TOS and were loyal, you were a "Trekker." "Trekkie" came second as did the absurd mislabeling of the show as "Star Trak" by common tv viewers and the ignorant. I'm a purist and watched TOS from the '60s when it was controversial with interracial and multicultural actors. And if you wanna argue the other series, TNG stunk until Season 5 as did movies 5,7,9, and 10! The reboot by JJ Abrams is excellent :)

Well, I thought both parodies were pretty good. Although I regret to have to point out, the photo of snow on the pyramids was a hoax. See snopes.com.
