The Lyrics

I once heard that Irving Berlin filed a legal document to keep Spike Jones from parodying any of his songs. I've often wondered how the original lyricists and artists feel about people such as our amiright brotherhood. After all, we take the fine fruits of their labor...and start a food fight! Here's what Frank Sinatra or his writers might say to me. ;D

When you write a ditty, 'though you're glib and witty,
Ribber, stay 'way from my song!
Don't use it for chuckles, or I'll break your knuckles.
Ribber, what you do is wrong!

I just wrote my poor heart out. I did emote.
Then each time you start out, and you get my goat.

Don't you cross that border. I've got a court order!
Ribber, stay 'way from my song!

Fame is what I'm after. You're just here for laughter.
Ribber, stay 'way from my song!
'Though you're only goofin' - knock off your lame spoofin'!
Ribber, our pain don't prolong!

All of your jokes are too hokey. Leave my works alone!
Stay with karaoke, and play your dumb trombone.

Change my lyrics? Never! Both your hands I'll sever!
Ribber, lest I go too long -
Keep off! Don't scoff! Piff-poff! Dumkopf!
You dirty old mother-stealer ewe!
Ribber! Stay 'way from my song!

Sorry, Frank. I've just got to do it.......My Way! ;D

Ribber, please don't stay away from his song - or any others either, 'cause we'd miss the opportunity to see cracking stuff like this! I DKTOS, but I can 'see' the rythm of it just from the excellent ryhming, and it's definitely hilarious, so I have no problems giving this 555 :^)

Great theme, and really liked the POV. One day when I write something that's original and becomes famous, you have my permission to have at it. I'm sure we can work out some royalties agreement.
