Song Parodies -> Spelling Tree (SCRABBLE)

Original Song Title:

"Jealousy"

Original Performer:

Frankie Laine

Parody Song Title:

"Spelling Tree (SCRABBLE)"

Parody Written by:

Barry J. Mitchel

For my 100th parody on this site, I chose this OS to pay tribute to a challenging game involving 100 square wooden blocks (not the US Senate) and popular among people who can put words together yet often struggle to find the one that fits.
Spelling tree, night and day your board lures me.
I sometimes wonder if this spelling's a blunder.
If only I had L or D, for they'd go with ONE, like C,
Then I'd look smart, but then my musing starts.

My peace departs
From the moment I fear that moves be vain.
Should I surrender my tiles and start again?
With zealous plea: "Ill fortune, flee."
Picked XQZ, 'tis real pain!

The chance of a bingo I love.
Your word meets with mine as we play.
Crosswise goes enhancer I'm dreaming of,
To form words unschooled lips will never say.

I fear that word fusing will end,
And shatter death knell I intend:
To make me go out when your tile rack is stout,
"I won!" being language I love.
Be careful, this can become an addiction!

Well, I'm certainly not casting my "pearl tiles" before swine on this site. OMR, I'll check your index for this OS. KR, you're obviously an addict. Fg, please complete that song, and some tile sets are plastic like Senators.
