Song Parodies -> You're Lost
| Original Song Title: | "Your Song" |
| Original Performer: | Elton John |
| Parody Song Title: | "You're Lost" |
| Parody Written by: | Scathe |
Ever meet one of those drivers that think they know everything?
It's a little bit seething losing your pride
You're the kind who needs a map for a short ride
You don't think it's funny but boy if you did
I'd start to curse loudly and throw a big fit
If I was the driver, but i'm not and so
We travel in circles, no route to follow
It's not asking much to ask what to do
You got us both lost and I say to you
You can try to deny it but you know you're lost
You tried to save face, but it's a lost cause
I know that you mind
I know that you mind if I ask for the route
I'm going to ask, so arguing's moot
We stopped at a store and a clerk I did ask
You felt so ashamed that you bought a flask
Just when you thought there were much bigger saps
I made you feel worse by buying a map
So excuse me for asking but I just had to
You seem think helping is harmful to you
The fact is I'm not trying to be mean
But your pride is the dumbest thing that I've seen

I don't recall ever driving you anywhere but, you got me....555 :-)
Although the chorus is a bit clunky, I'll give ya 5s coz I SO relate to the theme...:-)
Not bad, but check this one out: http://www.amiright.com/parody/80s/debbiegibson0.shtml
Kristoff says the chorus is a bit clunky, but it's no worse than, "I could be a singer/But then again, no". I think you captured the essence of this overrated song in a funny way. 455
The chorus didn't choke me up, but leaving out the fading chorus and a half and a few others parts did. 454.
sorry for not checking on this one yesterday. good parody but the last line was the best.
(y 06) see above.
(ABC Y 06) Got a bit of a driving-song fixation, eh Scathe? Good job.
(ABC-Y) See above. As for your top question; I'm married to her.
You can't hurt anything on a man, but his pride... 5's
(ABC05) Pacing was a bit sketchy but, good nonetheless. 455
(ABC) Sounds like a contour-line story to me!
(Y) yup, the psychiatris in me suggests something may have happened to you along those lines that day, Scathe - better out than in!
(ABC) 555 mph.
this is my favourite so far top parody
(ABC contest) This was awesome, but the pacing didn't much up (at least to my memory of the song). 444 I would hate to get lost myself. Great job! LMAO!!
