Song Parodies -> Goodbye Buck Owens

Original Song Title:

"You Don't Know Me"

Original Performer:

Eddy Arnold

Parody Song Title:

"Goodbye Buck Owens"

Parody Written by:

Airfarcewon

He had that twangy sound
Red, white, and blue guitar
Began in Bakersfield
Became a country Star
First hit, "Act Naturally"
Beatled eventually,
Goodbye Buck Owens..

Played on the "Hee Haw" show
With Roy Clark, and folks
Down home America,
Loved all the corny jokes
Made "Cryin Time" a hit
Ray Charles recorded it,
Goodbye Buck Owens..

His signature wail
Was "Tiger By The Tail"
Thru the sixties, he had country clout
One trademark ploy
A real Rhinestone Cowboy
That one Glen Campbell sang about,
(Sang about)

Crossover pioneer,
Distinctive country style
The backward overalls,
A big wide hayseed smile
They now come to an end
So, rest in peace, My Friend,
Goodbye Buck Owens..

A signature wail
Was, "Tiger By The Tail"
Thru the sixties, he had country clout
His trademark ploy
The real Rhinestone Cowboy
That one Glen Campbell sang about,
(Sang about..)

Crossover pioneer
Distinctive country style
The backward overalls
That big wide hayseed smile
Must now come to an end
Just rest in peace, My Friend
Goodbye Buck Owens..

Beautiful tribute and no one better to it than you, AFW. While I'm mostly a "rocker", I do love alot of old country and Buck is one of my favorites, and "Under Your Spell Again" was the first song I ever learned to play on the guitar. Great job, once again on this. All 5's.
