I've had my share of encounters with roaches, but... These things are a little bit different.
(I know pigs cannot fly... Did you hear *that*?)
Burroughs had his poison, and he had his sprays,
And evil nightmares a-crawlin',
Hundreds of jobs in a wartime boom-town, and
a junk-habit a-sprawlin,
Coke-bugs coming outa every pore, and a morphine
habit growin,
His main gig, though, was a killin' bugs when
the Croton bug was showin'. (1)

A tidal-wave of roaches!

Those big brown bugs devour Detroit thugs,
they're hungry like a piglet,
Spray won't kill 'em, and bait's a waste,

Leave a trail of rusty rivets,
Drink diesel fuel like Kenworth trucks,
Drag behind them army blivets. (2)

1) Croton bug: a back-east term for a cockroach. Named after the Croton Reservoir. 2) Blivet: Military term for a large rubberized bag used for holding liquids, including fuel. Dates from Vietnam war, but is still current usage. (i.e. Afganistan)
