The Lyrics

Ally McBeal was a hit TV-series from 1998-2002. It's cancellation signaled the beginning of a lack of quality programming in Prime Time TV.
We've been through this line up before
And we've done nothing but cried
TV Execs always make mistakes to our lives
That they just can't hide

Oh I believe I am ready for classic TV to return
Forget that reality stuff, just let it rot and burn

I'm searching for Ally McBeal tonight
I know there's so much more to her life.
I just hope they can find a way
To return my Ally to me...

One by one, the reruns circulate on FX
The spirit is gone; it's empty in the unisex

Oh, I've been thinking of Ally for a long time.
There's a side of my life that's been so empty and so...

I'm searching for Ally tonight
I know there's so much more to her life
Now I need my Richard and Elaine
Someone has to take the blame...
I'm searching my TV tonight
Someone tell me John's all right
Please someone shine a light
To help Ally find her way back home...

Ally, I've been waiting for you for my whole life
I've been waiting for you to come on home now
And leave all your worries behind...

Oh I believe I am ready for classic TV to return
Forget that reality stuff, just let it rot and burn

I'm searching for Ally tonight
I know there's so much more to her life
Now I need my Richard and Elaine
Someone has to take the blame...
I'm searching my TV tonight
Someone tell me John's all right
Please someone shine a light
To help Ally find her way back home...

Please someone shine a light
To help Ally find her way back home....

(Repeat Chorus)

Do a remake of R. Dean Taylor's 'Indiana Wants Me' next, seeing as Calista Flockhart's now with Harrison Ford! I miss Ally too - I wanted her to get with John Cage.

You're searching for Ally? Why???? Leave her lost! She's just another whining Bostonian! (Yes, I know there's a football game tomorrow, but they never talked about the Patriots on the show, just the Class of 1918 All-Stars.)
