The Lyrics

You must be a hard-core Sheryl fan to understand some of this song. It was written in 2003 near a time when Sheryl was touring and did several shows in Florida (my state) and her old drummer, Jim had left to go play for the "Counting Crows" and her new drummer was named Shawn Pelton, (from the Saturday Night Live band) Two of her Florida shows were in Fort Myers and West Palm at the Sunfest.

I spent a year online, sending mail,
But Ms. Crow, she did not reply.
You'll never know how hard I failed,
Tryin' to make her read what I write.

Once, I believed I could reach through the screen,
I was blinded, now I'm smart.
Out of the multitude, she'll see,
I came for her gig and her heart.

When the crowd has dispersed and gone home,
And I stand by the stage all alone,
And I doubt me she ever will see,
Don't bother me !

Her tour runs wide but it's not so cheap,
If you follow her all around.
I dreamed I scored some front row seats,
Way down in Fort Myers town.

Well now Jim's with another "Crow" band,
So now Shawn keeps the beat, he's the man,
But it's Sheryl who I came to see,
Don't bother me !

(Pretty music)

Tell Ma I love the band,
So I quit my job and ran.
Lovely and fine, it was back then,
Playin' down in West Palm, in the sand.
Playin' down in West Palm with the band.
Playin' down in Sun-Fest-grounds land.
Stayin' down in West Palm, it was grand.

In the morning, to bank, I do run,
And secretly hope I have funds,
'Cuz I know tickets never are free,
(Honey now)
Don't bother me !
Don't bother me !
Don't bother me-eee-EEEEEEEEE !!!
