| Parody Song Title: | "All I Wanna Do (New York Version)" |
| Parody Written by: | Freddie C. |
This ain't no beach town, this ain't no mountain resort, either
This is New York
All I wanna do is have a little fun before I die
Says the man next to me from around somewhere
He's dressed very classy, and he says his name is Edward
But I'm sure it's Ed or Eddie or Buck or Junior
And he looks like a guy from the Rat Pack
And I wonder if he's ever met Sinatra in his whole life
Well we are drinking champagne and eating cheesecake on a Friday
In a cafe that faces the Brooklyn Bridge
And the city people outside are driving around on a lunch break
Some of them walking best as they can in dresses and suits
They drive their shiny Jags and some Lincolns
Back to the Times Square, Empire State too
But they ain't nothing like Eddie and me
Cause all I wanna do is have some fun, I got a feeling I'm not the only one
All I wanna do is have some fun, I got a feeling the weekend has just begun
All I wanna do is have some fun, until the sun comes up on the Long Island Expressway
Well, I like a good champagne buzz early in the morning
And Eddie likes to peel the labels off his bottles of wine
He rips them up and then lights a big, long pipe
Letting each one burn down to his smooth skin
Before blowing and cursing them out
I'm watching the bottles of wine spill on the floor
And a newlywed couple enters the cafe
Dangerously kissing one another
The bartender's getting used to this
But all I wanna do is have some fun, I got a feeling I'm not the only one
All I wanna do is have some fun, I got a feeling the weekend has just begun
All I wanna do is have some fun, until the sun comes up on the Long Island Expressway
Otherwise, the cafe is ours
The day and the night and the Five Boroughs, too
Brooklyn, Manhattan, and the fancy and shiny cars
The sun and the moon
But all I wanna do is have some fun, I got a feeling I'm not the only one
All I wanna do is have some fun, I got a feeling the weekend has just begun
All I wanna do is have some fun, I gotta tell you that you're the only one
All I wanna do is have some fun, until the sun comes up on the Long Island Expressway
Until the sun comes up on the Long Island Expressway
This is New York
All I wanna do is have a little fun before I die

Brave attempt, but not different enough from the original to be a good parody
This smells worse than the Elmhurst gas tanks, or the Linden oil refinery, or even the aptly named Fresh Kills landfill! It looks like you did this one just for the sake of doing it. Never do it just for the sake of doing it. No matter how hot she is.
I didn't think it was all that great. I've read better parodies. Kristof is right; some of the lines are verbatim from the original.
Freddie C, I must agree with the others.
It's not that we're mad at you, it's just that this one didn't work.
