Original Song Title:

Original Performer:

Ozzy Osborne

Parody Song Title:

Parody Written by:

Jeff Reuben

The Lyrics

The parked cars in endless rows
Around the stadium we must go
Partied last night, I feel so rough
But I still ain't had enough!

I keep saying that I'll get to the game,
But I know I'm a liar
Hot dogs in sight, but the grill wouldn't light
Would someone start our fire?

TAILGATER! With a cooler of Beast!
TAILGATER! Burgers burned in the grease!
TAILGATER! Drinking MGD brew!
TAILGATER! I'll pour a beer on you!

It's getting late pick up the pace
Another keg, another case
Sometimes I'm so ashamed
Don't care who won the game

People keep telling me our defense is stealth
The kicking game won't make it
Out of a Bowl, the band will play "Rock-n-Roll"
Our chug times can't get higher...

TAILGATER! With a cooler of Beast!
TAILGATER! Getting rocked in the streets!
TAILGATER! In the back of Lot Two
TAILGATER! I'll pour a beer on you!

(ABC) I'll break the comment cherry on this one I guess. DKTOS but clever, fits with the song (tailgaters like this probably would listen to Ozzy).

(ABC) Don't know it well enough, but it really looked good.

(ABCT05) Hmm, don't remember this OS and never got much into tailgate parties but I've had my share of MGD. Beast? wow, maybe a parody to "Number of the Beast" called "Cooler full of Beast"!

(T) well, I've never heard of MGB - is that a brand of beer? - if so, I feel obliged to buy a six-pack and give it a go - lost me on a lot of the references here, Jeff, but probably because I'm an ignorant bastard (and worse, an Aussie one!)

Lots of cheap American beer references
Beast: Milwaukee's Best (Best for chugging)
MGD: Miller Genuine Draft

Cooler Full Of Beast...hmmmm =)

(ABC05) I'll be doing this today, Jeff! Going to see the N.E. Patriots play the Tampa Bay Bucs. First game I've gone to since before the Patriots won their first Super Bowl. Oh yeah, fives, man!

Rick...glad you got to see a good one! From your perspective =) I have to sit through the Baltimore/Green Bay debacle tonight (but at least I have the tailgate beforehand).

(ABC) And the hilarious thing is, one can easily imagine Ozzy "tailgating" from the back of a Rolls Wagon, yelling at Sharon about the bloody dogs shat in his hat or whatever.... 5s

(ABC) I DKTOS, Jeff....and I'm guessing I'd get this alot more if I was American. C'est la vie!

(T) Love tailgate parties, and you nailed the beast!

(ABC) Cool.

ABC--I might have enjoyed this a little more, Jeff, if I STILL weren't bitter about this year's football season...; ) (Excellent job!)

DKTOS, but can I still come to the tailgate? This is funny even on the free-read, and I can imagine how the refrain goes based on how you presented it. Nice one, Jeff.

(Artistry) Well now Youtube is in my world, so now I can give this parody it's proper due. Great subs throughout. Your video provided another verse, so now it feels like something is missing, but no matter. The spirit of the tune matches the parody.

Great stuff and all, but you didn't finish the song so I had to knock you a point off for pacing, because this song as is wouldn't be able to get recorded without removing parts of the backing track or creating your own backing track to this one. I know that if you redid this song today you would have done the entire song, because you're now a recording artist. Still was great though.

(Artistry) Wait, a tailgate is a type of party? I just thought it's when one car is right up the arse of the other. This parody flew straight over my head Jeff, sorry.
Jeff Reuben - January 26, 2009 - Report this comment
BPC: It is both :) In fact, the term "tailgating" referring to a party comes from hanging out in a parking lot before a sporting event, partying in the back of a truck, or sitting on the bumper...tailgating. The sporting event is kind of optional, really. You'd like it :)

It's the ~ Tailgating ~ that I love the most about 49er & Raider games, Sir Jeffry! The best food ever, up at CandleStick Park ! Then when the game starts, I get to take my snooze in the truck ! !

(Artistry) The way more and more teams are relegating tailgaters to the outer lots, it's easier to just stay there and tailgate than hike the two miles to the stadium. Good work.

(Artistry) I can certainly appreciate this one. Simple yet effective, nice work with the rhyme scheme.
