Parody Song Title:

"The World Of Anime Fans"

Parody Written by:

Stephen Harrington

A parody theme about anime fan culture.
I lead a single life that's comfortable
I pay the bills and keep my stomach full
I love to play games and watch anime
the kind robots, magic and hot babes
I want to go when it comes to town
the anime con is a battle ground
those mecha guys will show you how they start
the cosplayers will tell you who they are

Keep the anime close to my heart
cosplay photographs, take it to heart
keep the otaku close to the heart

I lead a single life that's on a whirl
some people say I'll never get a girl
I like to dabble in hentai that's great
the kind with fairies, catgirls and red lace
it's such a thrill when we go around
our anime club is the best in town
we start to talk about the stuff we know
it is a theme about our favorite shows

Keep the anime close to my heart
cosplay photographs, take it to heart
keep the otaku close to the heart

I lead a single life that's comfortable
I pay the bills and keep my stomach full
I read some manga and buy anime
the kind that's cutesy, silly and risque
let's make a plan when it comes around
the anime con is a proving ground
those mecha guys are always in the know
the cosplayers they like to steal the show

Keep the anime close to my heart
cosplay photographs, take it to heart
keep the otaku close to the heart

I'll have to find "Swap Meet" again to rate this, but I'll say your rhyming is very good here.

I don't know this song, if it's on Bleach, that's why. Anyway, I thought it was a funny and good read. Look out for a Nirvana parody from me soon. (Actually, you might not want to look for it.)

Very clever, and the rhyming is great, even though I'm not an anime fan. However, I don't understand the meaning of "Step-chan" in your other parodies.
Stephen aka Step-chan - July 28, 2005 - Report this comment
"Step-chan" is my username on this site's messageboard as well as a few other ones(I post responses like this so people know the two names are of the same person). If you want to know what meaning it has or how I came up with it, let me know. Thanks for the comments and vote. Red Ant, "Swap Meet" is the 9th song on the album, I wonder if you had mistaken the 10th song for "Swap Meet" with rating my 1st parody(Mr. Moustache is song no. 10 and has only two verses and choruses). I just thought of that not too long ago, since the song that is right after "Swap Meet" only has two stanzas.

Okay, on Bleach then and I might have listened to track 10 vs 9 as getting that lost isn't usual for me on a parody. I'll give it a listen later today.

I'm surprised I didn't ask you that sooner, since Mr. Moustache is the song right after Swap Meet(didn't think about the possibility of that, even though Mr. Moustache only has two instead of three).

I'd like to know what meaning it has, and how you came up with it. Thanks.

Well, it is actually not too complex. It was born out of both anime and video game influence. On the game Final Fantasy(on the NES), you can only name your characters four letter names(as well as Dragon Warrior 3 on Game Boy), the first four letters of my name spell "Step"(at least it's a word), so that's how I got the first part of my username. The "chan" part came from watching alot of "Excel Saga", where the main character "Excel" calls her partner "Hyatt", "Ha-chan"(in the english dub and japanese dialogue). Not too complex, although it took some describing.

Isn't it common to call someone in Japan (Insert name here)-chan? Or is that san?... Now I'm confused!
Stephen aka Step-chan - August 08, 2005 - Report this comment
It depends on who it is("chan" is usually reserved for shorter people or kids or people who don't have seniority, but I like the "chan" suffix). All it is, really is me using the 1st 4 letters of my name with "chan" tacked at the end(I did get from video games and anime, however).
