The Lyrics

Originally recorded by Cobain, Lanegan and Pickerel. This song is a part of the Nirvana box set and is a cover of a Ledbetter song. My parody is a silly, inane and nonsensical play on the original.
Ain't it a shame to take a pee on a rooftop
ain't it a shame
ain't it a shame to take a pee on a rooftop
ain't it a shame
ain't it a shame to take a pee on a rooftop
when you have bathrooms, toilets, bathtubs
or bottles, bushes, urinals, ain't it a shame

Ain't it a shame to get behind on your readin'
ain't it a shame
ain't it a shame to get behind on your readin'
ain't it a shame
ain't it a shame to get behind on your readin'
when you have manga, novels, comics
or Playboys, Hustlers, articles, ain't it a shame

Ain't it a shame to post the pics that are racy
ain't it a shame
ain't it a shame to post the pics that are racy
ain't it a shame
ain't it a shame to post the pics that are racy
when you have kittens, apples, rabbits
or flowers, mountains, oranges, ain't it a shame

Aaaahhh... aaaahhh... aaaahhh...
eeeehhh... eeeehhh...
oooohhh...

Ain't it a shame to take a nap when you're drivin'
ain't it a shame
ain't it a shame to take a nap when you're drivin'
ain't it a shame
ain't it a shame to take a nap when you're drivin'
when you have bedrooms, stripbars, churches
or hotels, kitchens, comforters, ain't it a shame

Ain't it a shame
ain't it a shame
ain't it a shame
ain't it a shame
ain't it a shame

Shame, shame, shame
The 3rd verse actually is a joking reference pointed at me, since I've started posting pictures alot.

Really, you should sometimes do parodies of songs people know... I would love to read one of your parodies and know the OS... Pretty funny though.

Thanks for the comment. Can you list some examples? Then I'll let you know if I have any of them.

Oh, I do have a parody of "It's all about the Pentiums/It's all about Benjimans" in planning(I have Weird Al's parody of the song) and it's about a American comic strip series(which one I'm keeping secret for now).

I'd always like to read one about Calvin and Hobbes or Bloom County. Really, any song that has ever been pretty popular since the'70's. You should do some classic rock song. Maybe David Bowie, Tom Petty, or Elvis Costello? I dunno, you just do something else, because you've done pretty much every Nirvana song... I have trust you can figure it out. Good luck.

Actually, I haven't done all of the Nirvana songs yet(I have a goal to do at least one parody of every Nirvana song), I do have some Tom Petty, but nothing by Bowie or Costello(I also have some Aerosmith, Smithereens, Pretenders and The Cult just to name a few). I've thought of a Dilbert theme parody as well(don't know how popular that is here on this site). The goal I have for the Nirvana songs will be spread out over time as I only have three song parody ideas for Nirvana right now. Oh, I do have one Bowie song(Nirvana's cover of it, but none of Bowie's albums).

Well, I haven't thought of doing that song yet, but after listening to some of the other stuff, I do have ideas for Petty, Aerosmith, Smithereens, Heart and Scorpions. I just need lyrics for some of them.
