Poliomyelitis or infantile paralysis has been one of the dreaded killers in the past, along with both great and small pox, and TB. There are still some 4,000 recovered polio survivors in Finland, with many developing post-polio syndrome as they age. While the vaccinations snuffed the epidemics for good in West some fifty or so years ago, polio still occurs in underdeveloped countries and kills people. Let us get rid of that killer virus for good.
So many in the past
have been crippled by the polio
It's been such a disease
which has scared the nation dead
It's been many thousands dead
and maimed for the life, you know
In West it has now ceased -
as vaccines we-re made
