| Parody Song Title: | "Voudoun" |
| Parody Written by: | Dennis |
Notes; after hearing *so many* people say the original song is about drugs, I feel inclined to spit - as well as, uh, 'clarify' what it's saying. (to me, at least) Besides, this doesn't feel at all like lying in a hospital bed connected to an IV while the undead world becomes filled with the works of Poe, or laying on the floor feeling as if your apartment has turned into a 33rpm turntable, or the operating table has turned into quicksand and is sucking you straight down to hell - while suffocating you with motor oil. It's more like smelling an obvious pipe where there is no one smoking the thing, and you aren't the only one smelling the 'evil' stink. Spirits are like that.
Voudoun
I am the one who's gone far astray,
When I feel the snake-mind enter my brain,
I've no wish to be ridden again,
And this night will end with me insane. (1)
Drum pounds, in me inspire
Whistle-flute, so far away,
Lost all to the spirit-strife,
I've lost reason today,
Freakin', squealin,
Breathin', Screamin'
It's coming back again.
I am the gun who's put into play,
When I feel the hot lead enter my veins,
I came unwilling from so far away,
I do not care if it's night or day.
Lazy clouds pound on my head,
empty speech from my lips,
Deadly nightshade by moonlight,
Makes my mind so unclear.
Spirits-Schemin'
Breathe in, breathin,
It's coming back again.
I'm still the one who's shining today,
Burning hot, molten empire to sway,
Sent over the sands to die here again
No one told me why I came.
I am the one who's gone far astray,
When I feel the snake-mind enter my brain,
I've no wish to be ridden again,
And this night will end with me insane.
(spoken) Voudoun. (echoed) "Chill venom of the saw-viper..."
(spoken) Voudoun. (echoed) "Take up your snakes and celebrate"
(spoken) Voudoun. (echoed) "Like a Cretan snake-goddess." (2)
(echoed) "Wave 'em, honey. Give my regards to the Baron." (3)
I am the snake that fears for the day,
When I travel inside a mind of clay,
Slither out of the arm, a cry of pain,
Dripping blood, the red-ground is stained.
Shiver the wind while it blows you away,
Electrified, I'm Frankenstein, wires for veins,
Out of pieces, assembled, live once again,
Another Zombie hears his master today.
(spoken) Voudoun, (drums thundering)
(spoken) Voudoun, (The chants begin)
(spoken) Voudoun, (echoed) "The ride of your life,"
(spoken) Voudoun, (echoed) "Dead noise bleeding,"
(spoken) Voudoun, (echoed) "Call for the sacrifice."
(spoken) Voudoun, (echoed) "Bitter taste on my tongue,"
(spoken) Voudoun, (echoed) "Venom from the viper's pit,"
(spoken) Voudoun, (echoed) "I've returned for what is mine."
Come close - today,
I'm the one for your new life's dismay,
Never again shall I merely 'play'.

1) The practicioners of Voodoo/Voudoun speak of being 'ridden', that being 'temporary spiritual inhabitation'. 2) Old figurines found on the island of Crete show a woman with huge glands and a wiggling snake in each arm. 3) Baron Samedi, one of the more important 'Loa'. (He shows in the video)
