Song Parodies -> Boys of Summer (Baseball Strike)
| Original Song Title: | "Boys of Summer" |
| Original Performer: | Don Henley |
| Parody Song Title: | "Boys of Summer (Baseball Strike)" |
| Parody Written by: | Mike Armstrong |
I thought I'd write a parody about the disgusting state of affairs in the sport of baseball, and the possible, and probably, strike that could occur.
No baseball on TV,
Nobody on the mic,
I feel it in the air,
These guys are gonna strike.
Empty bench, empty park,
All for a few more bucks,
Cancel the World Series,
Oh, no, you're out of luck.
Chorus
I can see you,
Boycotting the game,
Another strike will simply,
Put out the flame,
I can tell you,
My sympathy just won't go on,
Strike and the boys of summer
Are gone.
Never will forget those games,
I wonder if they will play on,
Because of a salary cap,
We won't see no Barry Bonds.
And I don't understand,
What happened to the league,
Never gonna get the fans back,
Got way too much greed.
CHORUS
Ou on the street today,
Saw a little boy lookin at a baseball card,
They used to be his heroes, but,
They broke his heart, ya they broke his heart.
He thought they had 1st place locked up,
What did he know?,
Baseball is gone forever,
No games on the radio.
CHORUS
