The Lyrics
During W-2, Britain developed a stink bomb and aerosols to be used against the Nazis in Europe. SOE developed the foul odor as S-10 Stench Substance. Project name was Why Me? It was not popular and tended to affect the Resistance person trying to use it. Churchill wanted it in bombs to drop on Berlin but this wasn't realized.

Note: PU is a shortened term for puteo, which is Latin for "to stink, be redolent, or smell bad." A professor of Latin at the University of Florida explains that it's actually spelled "piu," but is often pronounced as "pee-yew. It's root is the Indo-European word "pu," meaning to rot or decay.

Actually, both SOE and American OSS worked together on the same idea. Why me? Is technically the US program. Both failed as the handler usually got the stinky stuff on themselves which was a dead giveaway!
