The Lyrics
In the 19th century in Britain a breed of oversized Corgi called Turnspit dogs worked in the kitchen running on a wheel that linked to a spit in the fireplace to rotate pork and various fowls. The dogs had to run for hours and were abused. By the time steam powered machines took over the dogs were discarded and became extinct. One stuffed example is in a museum. Some in Britain want to breed it back into existence and rename it Torgi.

The conditions were so cruel,
Dogs were not pets, but cooking tools!
