Reminds me when Van Halen demanded M&Ms on their rider, but all the black ones had to be removed (I think it was the black ones, maybe green, too lazy to look it up). It wasn't just crazy gimmick, it was a safety check, if such details were taken care of they could actually assume the rest of riders, including the important safety issues, had been properly vetted.
